Job opportunity: Development/Production Engineer

Güralp Systems is a thriving company with an international customer base, which was awarded the Queen's Award for Export Achievement 1999.

We are urgently seeking candidates for the position of Development/Production Engineer.

The post is available immediately, and will be based at our facility in Aldermaston, near Reading.

Job Description: Development/Production Engineer

Role

To support the senior design engineer with the introduction of products from R&D into production, providing all necessary documentation. To support general production activities from a technical point of view.

Tasks

The following tasks will form part of the job description:

Able to test and fault find electrical/electronic circuits and suggest/perform solutions;

Board layout and design;

Write work instructions. routings and BOMs;

Basic jigs and fixture design and manufacture;

Production engineering duties;

Liaise with R&D and Manufacturing on NPI projects;

Liaise with sub-contractors in relation to problems and NPI;

Component level approval support for supply chain;

Apply ECNs to electronic assemblies and PCBs; and

Deputise for Senior Design Engineer (when up to speed).

Experience

The ideal candidate will posses the following experience:

Understanding of BOM structuring (ERP);

Use of test instrumentation;

Able to read and interpret circuit diagrams and, ideally, engineering drawings; and

Electrical/mechanical assembly manufacturing experience.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will posses the following qualifications:

A HNC in Electronics

We are prepared to consider candidates possessing an ONC and will offer help to progress to an HNC.

Personality

The ideal candidate will match the following description:

High work ethic;

Inquisitive and able to think “out of the box”

Personable;

Good communication skills (able to work at all levels of the organisation);

Should be able to ‘step up’ as we grow;

Ability to work autonomously; and

Sense of humour.

Remuneration

The position will attract a salary commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience.
