105 more CMG-3T instruments for EarthScope USArray

Having taken delivery of over 140 CMG-3T broadband seismometers to date, EarthScope has now decided to increase the pool of Güralp instruments for the USArray project by a further 105.

This prestigious contract has been awarded to Güralp Systems on the basis of our technical expertise and proven delivery record as well as competitive costings.

The ‘Bigfoot’ sensor array will now contain over 260 CMG-3T velocity broadband sensors, with response from 0.0083 Hz (120 s) to 50 Hz, which will be deployed in a rolling programme for 18 − 24 months at a time.
