ART 2.0 for Scream! 4.3
ART, Güralp Systems' strong motion analysis and research tool, is a Windows program for processing and analyzing strong motion records from Güralp Systems' CMG 5-series instruments.
ART 2.0 can
- automatically correct recorded time histories for instrument response, and plot corrected acceleration, velocity and displacement graphs;
- filter with configurable low-pass and high-pass filters, and plot the filtered time histories;
- export time histories and spectra in a number of currently-used strong-motion record formats, including ISESD, SMC, CSMIP, K-Net, PEER and SAC;
- calculate and plot Fourier amplitude spectra of time histories, and compare them with the pre-event portions of the records;
- calculate and plot Arias intensity and energy density;
- calculate and plot response spectra on both linear and tripartite graphs;
- calculate response and acceleration spectral intensity with user-defined limits;
- calculate RMS acceleration and cumulative absolute velocity;
- calculate absolute and relative bracketed, significant and uniform strong-motion durations using user-defined limits; and
- plot particle motions in 2 or 3 dimensions.
ART 2.0
The version of ART provided with Scream! 4.3 is a major enhancement of ART 1.0.
New features include:
- Process and view multiple records at once
- Export all derived strong-motion parameters (e.g. Arias intensity and Fourier amplitudes).
- Compare derived parameters among different records (e.g. response spectral ordinates)
- Scale, zoom and print graphs, and export them in several image file formats
- Choose the units displayed for time-histories and derived strong-motion parameters
- Automatically convert data from instruments with a velocity response to acceleration units for processing
- More efficient code for better performance
- Calculate absolute significant (effective) duration using user-defined limits
- Interactively configure the cut-off frequency and order of the high-pass filter using the Fourier amplitude spectra of the event and pre-event (ambient) records
ART and Scream!
ART works closely with Scream! to make analysing seismic data easy.
Scream!'s visualization and filtering capabilities allow you to view time series and quickly identify events. Records can then be imported into ART with a simple selection operation.
ART 2.0 is supplied in the standard distribution of Scream! versions 4.3 and later. It is also compatible with older versions of Scream!.
