GSL sponsors SEIS09
Güralp Systems is proud to sponsor SEIS09, the “Frontiers of Seismology” conference being held in Edinburgh on the 2nd and 3rd of April, 2009.
The event is a major gathering of the UK seismological community, including both established professionals and students, and is jointly organised by the British Geological Survey, the University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh Seismic Research. About 100 people are expected to attend and the speakers will include:
- Mark Chapman (British Geological Survey);
- Mike Kendall (University of Bristol);
- John McCloskey (University of Ulster);
- Johan Robertsson (Schlumberger Cambridge Research);
- Tiziana Rossetto (University College London); and
- John Woodhouse (University of Oxford).
As well as celebrating recent research achievements, the meeting will focus on future research directions, including the use of collaborative working practices to develop innovative solutions. Highlights will include the Scottish launch of the UK School Seismology Project and a guided geological walk around Arthur‘s Seat and Salisbury Crags - followed by a trip to the pub!
Güralp Systems’ staff will be present throughout the event to exhibit and discuss their world-leading low-noise broadband seismometers, accelerometers, digitizers, communications equipment and software.
