GSL launch the CMG-EAM – the next generation DCM

Guralp Systems Limited announce the launch of the CMG-EAM.

The Guralp Systems’ Enhanced Acquisition Module is the result of a complete re-design of the CMG-DCM. Although outwardly similar, the CMG-EAM contains a significantly more powerful processing platform with increased flexibilty and reliability – without sacrificing the ultra-low power consumption of its predecessor. In addition, the CMG-EAM retains all the functionality of the the CMG-DCM and is 100% plug-compatible for rapid integration into existing installations.

Hosting GSL’s new Platinum firmware, the CMG-EAM provides the perfect solution for all data acquisition, data storage, network communication and seismic protocol conversion needs.

The internal architecture has been designed with GSL’s many years of teleseismometry experience in mind but still with an eye fixed firmly on the future. Additional networking options, such as internal modems and network interfaces, can be added to customers’ specifications and integrated seamlessly with the rest of the system.

This design, coupled with the Platinum firmware and the embedded Linux operating system on which it runs, place the CMG-EAM in a unique position to support and grow with future developments in teleseismometry.

Extensive field-testing over a six-month period has confirmed that the CMG-EAM has the unrivalled stability and reliability required for for remote deployments, major infrastructure projects and extensive seismic array monitoring.
