Guralp débuts all-in-one borehole solution
Guralp Systems is designing a complete seismic station in a borehole for the Swiss Seismological Survey (SED) and ETH Zürich.
This innovative system combines weak and strong motion sensors together with Guralp’s DM24 digitizer in a single borehole sonde, which is to be deployed in an uncased borehole at a depth of 550 m.
The combination of weak and strong motion sensors gives the station an effective dynamic range greater than 200 dB.
In response to demand, Guralp Systems now produce similar combined borehole sensors as a standard product, the CMG-3T/5TB.
