CMG GPS CMG GPS

The CMG GPS Receiver Unit comprises an antenna, the GPS receiver electronics, wide range input isolated DC power supply and output line drivers. It is a standalone unit requiring only one cable connection to the instrument, which carries both signals and power.

GPS data, including position, date/time and device status, is output in NMEA format at 4800 baud once per second. A time synchronisation pulse of 100 ms duration is output at 1 pps (pulse per second). Both outputs use RS232 (or, optionally, RS422) line drivers, enabling you to use cables up to 100 metres long.

Once the GPS receiver is connected to a digitizer (possibly through a series of other modules,) it will start sending position and timing information automatically, and requires no further setting up.
