CMG-CAM miniature colour borehole camera

The CMG-CAM.

The CMG-CAM is a compact, high resolution, easy-to-use colour video camera for exploring and investigating boreholes where seismometers or accelerometers are to be installed.

Due to its very small diameter of 25.4 mm / 1 in, the camera can also be used to check the health and position of seismometers after installation.

The high resolution camera is contained inside a waterproof, stainless steel or titanium housing and surrounded by an integral, variable-intensity light source. The window may be made of Perspex or sapphire at your option.

Power to the camera and light source is provided by the integral cable drum and surface control panel. The camera is rated for operation down to 400 m; an optional 5000 m depth housing is also available.

Signals can be viewed or recorded via an optional Digital Video Recorder or USB PC interface unit, or from the composite analogue video out connector on the control panel. This output is compatible with a normal television or VCR.

Optional PC software allows single-shot photographs from the camera to be printed on any type of printer.

Tripod and winch

Tripod and winch

Aluminium construction makes the winch easy to carry.

A tripod and winch can be provided with any Güralp Systems borehole seismometer. It is designed for lifting the sensor into manholes, sunken pits or deeper boreholes as required.

The tripod, made of lightweight aluminium, has extendable legs and feet which can be adjusted to provide high-friction pads for hard surfaces, or metal points for installation on soil or sand.

Attached to one of the tripod legs is a hand-operated spur gear winch with an automatic self-locking friction brake and removable handle.
