New Firmware update released for DM24 Mk3 digitisers to address GPS Week Number Roll Over (WNRO) issue

DM24 Mk3 Firmware Update

We can confirm that a firmware update for the DM24 Mk3 digitiser is now available. In addition to addressing the 2019 Week Number Roll Over issue, this patch will also address the future 2038 Week Number Roll Over.

This update will apply to:

  • DM24 Mk3 digitisers*

  • DM24S3EAM and DM24S6EAM data acquisition units

  • All DM24-based digital instruments manufactured since 2005

*PLEASE NOTE:This update will not apply to a small number of peli-cased DM24 Mk3 units with a USB socket under the lid. If you are unsure if you have one of these systems, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and they will be able to assist you.

Full instructions for downloading and applying the firmware update are on the DM24 WNRO update page of our website here.

We are not able to provide a GPS firmware update for CD24 digitisers, DM24 Mk2 digitisers or the corresponding integrated instruments

For both of these types of systems we advise a GPS hardware upgrade as the best solution.

We are still advising the GPS receiver hardware upgrade as the best solution. In addition to addressing the 2019 NWRO issue, the new hardware will deliver additional benefits such as:
  1. Improved, automatic leap-second support.
  2. Field upgradeable for future-proof operation
  3. Unlike earlier versions, it can be used interchangeably with DM24 and CD24 equipment with the use of adaptor cables
  4. More channels. The new receivers support 56 channels, compared to 12 for the Trimble iQ or 8 for the Trimble SQ modules.
  5. Faster start-ups
Further advice for the GPS NWRO issue including hardware upgrade and firmware update information can be viewed on our GPS WNRO page.

The Affinity, Minimus(+) and Fortimus are not affected by the 2019 WNRO.
