Chapter 2. Introduction

The Güralp Strong Motion Display Unit is a clearly legible, wall-mounted, touch-screen system for displaying real-time Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA) and Spectral Intensity (SI) data from a connected seismometer. The operator can set two threshold levels - warning and shut-down - for both PGA and SI which, if exceeded, can be used to trigger external actions via relay outputs.
