Release Notes for DIG2

DIG2 is Güralp Systems’ firmware for Minimus₂ and Minimus Lite digitisers. These can be recognised by their serial numbers, which will be of the form MINL-XXXX. For digitisers with serial numbers of the form MIN-XXXX, please see the Release Notes for dig page.

The Minimus₂ and Minimus Lite both run dig2 firmware. Their serial numbers are of the form MINL-XXXX.

This is the correct document for these instruments.

The Minimus and Minimus+ both run dig firmware. Their serial numbers are of the form MIN-XXXX.

This document does not describe their firmware. Please see the release notes for dig for information relevant to the firmware of these digitisers.

  • Certimus
  

The Fortimus digital accelerometer and Certimus digital seismometer each contain a Minimus digitiser which runs dig firmware.

Finding the currently installed version

To determine the current firmware, run Güralp's free Discovery software and find the entry for your digitiser on the main page. The firmware version is displayed, as highlighted below:

If the firmware version is not displayed, select Firmware Ver from the Show sub-menu of the Window menu:

Upgrade instructions

You should always back up and verify any data from your device's SD card before upgrading to avoid any risk of data loss.

  • Certis full sample rates now available on digital connection
2023/08/11 - Release 2.1-11433
This release contains the following fixes:
  • Certis RESP/Dataless files now contain correct frequency response.
  • 200 SPS now available for Certis.
  • GDI headers now legalised for older NAM compatibility
  • Channels relating to Certis can now be found under Certis in the Display on Page dropdown in Data Stream/Record.
  • Fixed possibility of gaps in data recorded to the SD cards.
  • A Full Format option now exists in the webpage to fully zero out all files.
  • Webpage now requires login to access all controls for digitiser.
  • Data will still be recorded to external SD card if internal SD card isn't functioning correctly.
  • Auxilliary files polezero.txt and calvals.txt are now functional for SCREAM compatibility.
  • Instrument Serial number now correctly stored when entered in the Poles and Zeros editor in discovery.
  • Download by time will now serve up to the most recent recorded data when future data is requested.
  • Warnings and checks added for SD cards of differing sizes

  • Calibration values from Certis will now be viewable in the calibration editor on newer versions of Discovery.
  • LED will now flash blue for five cycles upon a trigger.
  • event_table.txt now shows <1 second events as "<1" instead of 0 seconds.
  • Threshold triggers now identified correctly in event_table.txt.
  • Fixed date not showing correctly on system.log.
