Chapter 5. Connector pin-outs
5.1 Main power and data
The connector is an Amphenol non standard 12‑pin 4‑fibre / 8‑copper “mil-spec” plug, conforming to MIL‑DTL‑38999 Series III (formerly MIL‑C‑38999). It has an aluminium alloy body with black zinc/nickel plating. The standard part number is TVP00ZN-15-97PN-LC where the N indicates a standard key used for the 24 V DC version of the Orcus OBS The 56 V DC version has connector part number TVP00ZN-15-97PA-LC where the A indicates a specific key used for the high voltage version of the Orcus OBS |

| Wiring details for the compatible socket, as seen from the cable end. The 56 V DC version with armoured rising cable has a socket—Amphenol titanium connector TV06ZN-15-97SA-LC—at Orcus OBS side. |
Note: Since this is a fibre-optic connector, great care must be taken to keep it absolutely clean when mating or disconnecting the cable.
5.2 Auxiliary system with Ethernet, current meter and pressure gauge
The connector is a 16-pin SubConn Micro Circular MCBH16F female bulkhead connector. It is an underwater pluggable electrical connector that has enhanced sealing capability and utilises a uniform contact size. |
