1 | Navigate to the approximate location of the instrument. | |
2 | Send the RELEASE command in order to activate the pop-up buoy. | |
3 | Locate the buoy on the sea surface and bring it on board. | |
4 | Recover all the excess rope by hand. | |
5 | Attach the OBS retrieving line to the winch. | |
6 | Move the boat to pull as straight as possible the OBS towards the sea surface. | |
7 | Connect the GPS to the deck unit and turn the deck unit on. | |
8 | Connect the deck unit to the OBS. | |
9 | Monitor the status stream until a GPS lock is obtained. Look for a PHASE report and take note of it. | |
10 | Unscrew the vent port and connect the Firewire disk to the digitiser. | |
11 | Download the data typing the FLUSH command. | |
12 | Recharge the batteries before a new deployment. |
