Chapter 4. Changing the Cell
The procedure for changing the cell is given below. Users of CD24s and 6TDs should note the caution at step two before proceeding
Locate the cell, using the example images below:
Caution: Before removing the cell from a CD24 digitiser, including one integrated into a 6TD, apply power to the device in the normal way in order to prevent damage to the FRAM chip.
Use a non metallic probe (or similar non-conductive object) to push the cell out of its holder from behind. In the image below a wooden dowel is being used to push the cell out of its holder from the right:
Install the battery into its holder with the positive terminal on the flat surface facing away from the PCB (the curved face towards the PCB):
