Chapter 3. Installation

Installation of the Network Trigger application is simply a matter of copying all the files from the CD into the same folder on the PC where the Scream program (scream.exe) has already been installed.

It may be convenient to create a shortcut on the desktop for the network trigger application. This can be done by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting “Create shortcut” from the pop-up context menu. Enter the path to the networktrigger.exe file in the resulting dialogue.

Note: When Network Trigger is provided pre-configured for a particular project, the CD will include .ini files specifying the configuration. These should be copied to the same folder as the application. Because modern versions of Windows do not allow applications to write to files in subdirectories of \Program Files, Network Trigger will automatically copy them to a suitable, writeable location the first time it is run. This is normally C:\ProgramData\GSL\NetworkTrigger\.

Network Trigger will not perform this copy if the files already exist in the destination directory.
