Our broadband sensors and seismic digitisers are used across a range of sectors for applications that include academic research, civil protection programmes, structural monitoring, optimisation of energy production activities and geophysical exploration.

Whatever your application, we have proven instrumentation for deployment at the surface, deep underground and on the ocean floor. We can provide everything you need, from individual sensors, to fully installed turnkey systems.

SEISMOLOGY

Our broadband sensors record seismic events of all kinds, from large earthquakes occurring on the other side of the planet, to activity triggered by the movement of magma prior to a volcanic eruption, to microseismic signals induced by human activities.

Earthquake monitoring and early warning

Data from our equipment is used to advance human understanding of how the Earth's crust behaves. Our instrumentation is available in portable units with integrated data acquisition capability, suitable for short to medium term field deployment, such as for aftershock monitoring; or as real-time, permanent networks with rapid processing and communication capability such as EEW or tsunami early warning application.…

Induced seismicity

We supply systems to monitor induced seismicity for energy related applications that include hydroelectric dams, geothermal power plants, hydraulic fracturing, waste water injection and underground storage of CO2. Our temporary networks are widely used to baseline regional seismicity in advance of commencing operations and to monitor aftershocks from unexpected events. Nuclear test ban treaty monitoring

There are arrays of seismometers all over the world monitoring for nuclear testing in breach of the international test ban treaty. Güralp has provided many of the seismometers for this truly global network. In addition we have been operating the UK nuclear test monitoring network for many years, where we maintain a dedicated team on site to ensure the required network availability.
