Shake maps

Güralp equipment is frequently used to produce shake maps following significant earthquake events. Unlike most of our earthquake monitoring systems that determine magnitude and epicentre, our shake mapping systems provide the spatial distribution of ground motion caused by the earthquake. With our low latency networks, shake maps can be produced within minutes of an event and can therefore be used to coordinate emergency response activities.
