Celebrating 35 years since incorporation.

Last week, the team at Güralp downed tools for to celebrate thirty five years of manufacturing world leading seismic instrumentation.

Amongst an array of instrumentation, both old and new, the leadership team reflected on the journey and the achievements of the business:

  • Launching the first truly portable, force-feedback seismometer to the market
  • Extending the capability of the instruments to operate in the most challenging environments, including the ocean floor, deep boreholes and polar ice caps
  • Developing sophisticated analogue to digital conversion modules to simplify the gathering of seismic data from multiple instruments
  • Utilising the latest technologies to offer advanced communication capabilities that simplify data collection as well as instrument and network management
  • Developing the world’s first seismometer capable of operating at virtually any angle, a game changer for rapid deployment
  • Delivering practical instrumentation to the world's leading scientists working to solve some of Earth's most complex mysteries

A centre piece for the festivities was a cake (created by one of our talented employees), in the form of a 3T, reflecting the importance that instrument holds in shaping the future of the business – it’s still one of our most popular products... the cake was equally as popular.

The gathering was an opportunity to reflect on the success of the business and the hard work of our employees, some of whom have been with the business since the very early days, as well as welcoming our newest recruits who have joined in the last few months. Here’s to another 35 years!
