Güralp Systems opens service centre in China

Güralp Systems opens its own service centre in China to optimise support for customers in the region.

Güralp Systems Ltd, the leading global manufacturer of seismic monitoring instrumentation, software and services has opened its own service centre in China to optimise the customer experience of the growing number of customers in the Chinese and Asian markets.

Güralp’s precision instrumentation is used for monitoring naturally occurring earthquakes and volcanic activity as well as seismicity resulting from human activities like energy production or carbon storage.

Although the instrumentation lasts for many years, occasional maintenance or repairs are required from time to time. The new localised service centre will significantly reduce timeframes for delivery of these services, as well as offering improved technical support and installations for customers in the region. With time, the service centre will employ further administration and technical staff to help with the repair demand so that the focus of the service centre can expand to cover customer training, acceptance support, the supply of spare parts, and instrument demonstrations for customers.

The service centre is being led by long-time Güralp engineer, Sean Goessen, who has worked with the business for nearly 30 years. Working alongside Sean is Lu Bin, who has nine years of experience working with Güralp instrumentation.

The official business entity for the service centre, Guralp (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. was approved in February 2025, with the new office located in Tongzhou, a district of Beijing.

Güralp’s Commercial Director commented:

“The new China service centre demonstrates our commitment to delivering excellent customer service, our experienced engineers are on standby to provide fast and efficient support to our distributors and end users in the region.”
