  • Local, regional and teleseismic monitoring
  • National seismic networks
  • Nuclear test ban treaty monitoring
  • Earth tide observations
  • Ice quake monitoring (3T-120 Polar)
The pioneer of miniature force-feedback seismometers

The Güralp 3T is the ultimate and original triaxial, broadband, weak-motion seismometer that provides exceptionally high quality monitoring over the long-period. Depending on the required level of performance and the location of the installation you can select from the following options:

3T-360 - an observatory grade instrument for monitoring over the very long period, in very quiet locations
3T-120 - for surface and sub-surface vaults, with the option for a polar casing which is operational and cold-start tested at -55 degrees Celcius.
3T-120 PH - a post-hole option suitable for permanent immersion in wet environments

We also manufacture a triaxial 3T borehole sensor which can be used alone or in combination with an accelerometer in a single instrument.

A high-performance, observatory grade seismometer, suitable for monitoring the very long period with a 360 s to 50 Hz frequency response (option to 100 Hz)

  • 1500 V/ms-1 (2 x 750 V/ms-1) sensitivity
  • Covers the complete seismic spectrum with a single transfer function
  • Measured Self noise below the USGS NLNM from 200 s (0.005 Hz) and remains below the high frequency limit of the NLNM at 10 Hz
  • High linearity: >111 dB (USGS figures)
  • Dynamic range of 167 dB at 1 Hz (Full octave width across 1 Hz)
  • Cross axis rejection over 65 dB; sensor axes orthogonal to within ±0.05°
  • Remote, automatic electronic mass locking, unlocking and centring
  • Operating tilt range of ±5° with adjustable feet for off-horizontal installation bases
  • Low power consumption: 0.75 W from a 10–36 V supply
  • Stainless steel enclosure
  • IP68 - protection against effects of prolonged immersion at 3 m depth for 72 hours
  • Optional Atmospheric Pressure Isolator - see accessories tab
For surface and sub-surface installations with a reponse of 120 s to 50 Hz (option to 100 Hz) and available with a polar casing for deployments in environments to -55 °C.

  • 100 bar / 10 MPa waterproof connector
  • IP68 - protection against effects of permanent immersion under pressure to 350 m depth
Accessories for 3T Series:

Atmospheric Pressure Isolator - protects the sensors from very slight fluctuations in temperature and pressure that can effect the instrument self-noise.
