What are differential and singled-ended connections? Open

This page discusses two concepts in analogue signal transmission: “single-ended” and “differential”. Analogue signals are used to convey the output of an analogue instrument to a digitiser. While digital signals are relatively tolerant of interference, analogue signals can be disrupted and altered by electromagnetic waves in the environment.
