APPLICATIONS

  • Local, regional and teleseismic monitoring
  • National seismic networks
  • Permanent volcano monitoring networks
  • Long-term microseismic monitoring
  • Rapid temporary deployments, e.g. aftershock and volcanic unrest monitoring
A truly portable, broadband, weak-motion triaxial seismometer

The Güralp 3ESPC is a proven weak-motion triaxial broadband seismometer for the price and size of a medium-motion instrument.

Ideally suited for long-term temporary and permanent installations in areas with low to moderate noise levels. The instruments' broadband response and low self-noise level make it suitable for seismic monitoring at all scales: local, regional and teleseismic.

A low-power and portable instrument for areas with low to moderate noise

    • 60 s - 100 Hz standard frequency response, (option of 120 s low-pass corner)
    • Covers the complete seismic spectrum with a single transfer function
    • Self noise below the USGS NLNM from 30 s to 10 Hz
    • High linearity: > 107 dB horizontal, 111 dB vertical
    • Over 165 dB dynamic range over a wide frequency band
    • Cross axis rejection over 62 dB; sensor axes orthogonal to within ± 0.05°
    • Robust automatic mass locking, unlocking and centring
    • Low power consumption of just 750 mW
    • Truly portable - just 8.4 kg with lifing handle, and convenient access to connectors
    • Hard anodised aluminium enclosure
    • IP68 - protection against effects of prolonged immersion at 3 m depth for 72 hours
